Obituary

Dear St. Thomas’,

The renewed conflict in the Holy Land, which marked its beginning with
the horrific actions of Hamas extremists last week, has been much on
many minds and many hearts. Thousands of Jewish people have had their
lives taken or forever changed. Thousands of Palestinian people
unconnected to Hamas, including many Christians, have been similarly
killed and hurt, or had their homes and businesses destroyed. The
situation in the Middle East has long been fraught beyond easy solutions
or even easy explanation. We continue to pray to God, who is bigger than
every conflict, for relief for every victim and, finally, a durable and
just peace.

Did you know the Ahli Arab Hospital in Gaza City, so much in the news
this week, is a ministry of the Episcopal Diocese of Jerusalem? You can
read more about it, or make donations through a reliable partner, the
American Friends of the Episcopal Diocese of Jerusalem.

Read Presiding Bishop Curry’s comments on these events here.

See a news report on the hospital’s most recent trauma here.

Prayer is the most important thing you can do. Giving can be a form of
prayer. I invite your heart-felt and meaningful support of God’s
suffering children wherever they may be found.

Faithfully,

Todd+
