Dear St. Thomas’,
This week we have begun the journey of Lent together. Covid, true to form, has modified our observance of the rites. But Covid cannot stop God’s grace from being poured out in our midst! In fact, as Covid fills the airwaves and reminds us of our mortality, it only brings us more fully into Lent, reminding us that we are dust, and to dust we shall return.
Lent is always meant to be a pilgrimage toward the cross, a place of death. Only by accepting and embracing that death can we find resurrection waiting for us on the other side. The attitudes and postures of Lent lead us to that embrace of God’s work in our lives.
St. Thomas’ is offering several invitations to a holy Lent in community this year:
- Stations of the Cross is a traditional tracing of Jesus’ final steps in the Holy Land. Sara Jordan is leading this online on Friday evenings at 7pm.
- St. George’s College, Jerusalem, is offering a Lenten journey through a set of brief videos that acquaint us with the Holy Land and invite us to see the stories of Jesus anew. I will lead this online on Wednesday evenings at 7pm. Come early if you want visit!
- Holy Eucharist continues to be offered outdoors every Wednesday evening at 5.30pm.
- Morning Prayer is offered every morning (except Sunday) on the church website.
May your Lenten journey be a source of comfort and assurance.
Faithfully,
Todd+

Numbered pledge envelopes have arrived! Pick yours up at an in-person liturgy or from the table in the lower level of the Parish Hall. If you are unable to pick them up, your number will stay the same: please write that number in the memo line of your check and you will receive full credit for each gift.
