On Sunday, September 26th, St Thomas will meet after the 10:30 AM service to nominate 6 people to attend a Special Convocation. This Special Convocation Meeting will be held on Sunday, October 24th to elect one clergy and one parishioner to be on the Bishop Search and Nomination Committee.

Fall is coming! So what does that mean? It means the St. Thomas flea market, cooler weather, apple cider, beautiful leaves, playoff baseball, and yes, Stewardship season. That time when we step back and reflect on all of God’s blessings in our lives; and respond with our pledges to St. Thomas’ so that we can collectively do God’s work. October is coming and it’s Stewardship Month.
The St. Thomas’ Choir is starting up again under the tutelage of Christopher Scire, a junior and vocal music major at Rowan who has performed here in the past with Ben Burnham’s a cappella group. We hope to start practicing by the end of September, with the hope of starting to sing at the 10:30 service by the early part of October. Musical expertise is not needed, just the urge to make a joyful noise! See Tal Kramer if you are interested.

New college activity! This month we’re starting a new liturgy aimed at Rowan students and others of college age: Compline & Pizza! At 8pm on Wednesday nights, we will gather outdoors at the Lychgate for a sung service of Compline, followed by pizza and conversation. Please pray for this new endeavor and especially for our neighbors at Rowan.

On Saturday, August 14, a 7.2 magnitude earthquake struck the southwest portion of Haiti. This devastating earthquake was followed by Tropical Storm Grace on Monday night and much of Tuesday. More than 1 million people, including more than half a million children, have been impacted by the back-to-back disasters, and the death toll is close to 2000.
